Wheels of Thunder, inspired by a true account of life with a learning difficulty; to give it its full title. In the present-day Hertfordshire countryside, United Kingdom of Great Britain; amateur mechanic and racing driver Stuart Robson, attempts what many say is the project of a lifetime. He plans to build a fully working touring race car out of the standard road production car, in time for the national touring car championship race at Silverstone raceway in Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom. According to Stuart, building motor vehicles is easy, owing to his almost super human like ability’s, brought to him by the learning difficulty condition Asperger’s Syndrome Disorder, on the Autistic spectrum.
Stuart lives on a farm in the Hertfordshire countryside with his parents David and Abigail, along with his younger brother called Edward. David Robson runs a local transport company called Robson Transport Limited, basing himself in the nearby town a few miles away from the Robson farm. But whilst Stuart works on his wonder machine, which has been christened ‘Thunderbolt’; Stuart hits an obstacle that he never expected to come across. He unexpected, though he doesn’t fully know it because of his Asperger’s, has fallen in love. Emily Green, daughter of David Robson’s lifelong friend Rick Green, is the lady who has caught Stuart’s eye. Can Stuart win over her heart, or will his Asperger’s hold him back?
